Nienke Kingma is an experienced jazz-pop singer. Her smooth relaxing sound resembles that of musicians like Norah Jones or Katie Melua. Music has always been a big part of her life. At age sixteen she started to perform in the school big band and she fell in love with swing and jazz ballads. In order to train her voice and master new techniques she took professional singing lessons from the experienced Italian opera singer Sam Eu Jacobs for six years. From that moment on a musical journey began, which was always supported by her mother, Erika Kingma.
Nienke sang in several jazz combos, Big bands and as a solo artist. Soon she had the chance to perform on international level. Some highlights were, among others, performances in Denver (Colorado), Karlshamm (Sweden), Hamburg (Germany), Mechelen (Belgium) and, of course, diverse acts in the Netherlands. In 2007 she won two music awards in Lueneburg and Hannover (Germany) as a singer-songwriter. One year later she started to sing regularly in several luxury hotels at the coast of Zeeland (NL) and jazz cafés in Middelburg, followed by numerous requests for private events, such as weddings, birthdays, political and business events. In the meantime she studied psychology in Tilburg and finally started working as a clinical psychologist for children near Hamburg in 2015.
The combination of touching and entertaining people with music and working with children fits perfectly for Nienke. Whether it is singing for a great audience or an intimate concert for a couple of people, it is always very special for her. The great variety of jazz – soul – pop and folksongs promise unforgettable moments for your event/party.
